The Nanosurf TS-150 is an active vibration cancellation system for Nanosurf AFM instruments, using piezoelectric actuators to actively cancel floor vibrations and provide isolation superior to passive tables for challenging floor environments.
The Nanosurf TS-150 is an active vibration isolation system that uses feedback-controlled piezoelectric actuators to actively cancel incoming floor vibrations, providing superior isolation performance compared to passive pneumatic tables in challenging environments.
Active isolation principle:
– Inertial sensors detect incoming vibration
– Piezoelectric actuators generate equal and opposite motion
– Closed-loop feedback: bandwidth DC to 100 Hz; active cancellation at all frequencies above 0.5 Hz
– Passive isolation above 100 Hz from residual mechanical stiffness
Performance comparison vs. passive table:
– Below 10 Hz: active system provides 20-30 dB more attenuation than passive 2 Hz table
– Critical range 1-10 Hz: where most building vibrations from HVAC, footsteps, and elevators occur
– Enables AFM imaging on wooden floors, elevated labs, and buildings with continuous foot traffic
Design:
– Payload: up to 150 kg
– Platform: 60×60 cm; self-leveling
– Power: 110-240 V; no compressed air required
– Controller: standalone; no PC required for operation
– Compatible: all Nanosurf AFM systems (NaioAFM, CoreAFM, FlexAFM, DriveAFM)
Applications: AFM imaging on upper floors, buildings without quiet zones, adjacent to high-vibration equipment, and in vehicle or ship-mounted labs.
NewRoad provides Nanosurf TS-150 in Israel for labs where passive isolation is insufficient.
