The BioLogic CC4-200A is a 4-channel current capability extension module that enables high-current battery testing up to 200A per channel with BioLogic battery cycler and galvanostat systems, supporting formation cycling, rate capability testing, and characterization of large-format battery cells and modules that require currents beyond the standard instrument range.
The BioLogic CC4-200A is a 4-channel high-current module designed to extend the current capability of BioLogic battery cycling systems to 200A per channel. Standard BioLogic galvanostats and battery cyclers operate in current ranges up to tens of amperes — sufficient for small research cells, coin cells, and lab-scale pouch cells. However, larger-format cylindrical cells (18650, 21700, 26650 formats), prismatic cells, and especially battery module testing requires current capability in the 10A to 200A range to perform meaningful rate capability tests at realistic C-rates.
The CC4-200A booster module connects to a base BioLogic instrument and extends each channel to 200A, while maintaining the full electrochemical measurement capability of the host instrument — including voltage measurement resolution, current measurement accuracy, and EIS capability where supported. The 4-channel design allows parallel testing of up to 4 large-format cells simultaneously, increasing throughput for comparative testing of cell batches or different electrode formulations at high current.
Typical applications include formation cycling of 18650 or 21700 cylindrical cells at realistic 0.5C-2C rates, rate capability characterization at multiple C-rates from C/10 to 5C, pulse power testing for automotive and energy storage applications, and characterization of high-power battery modules. NewRoad provides the BioLogic CC4-200A high-current module in Israel for battery testing laboratories working with large-format cells.
