The MinusK BM-10 is the highest-capacity model in the Bench Mount (BM) series of negative-stiffness vibration isolators from MinusK Technology. Designed to support heavy instrument loads up to 1400 lbs (635 kg) in a compact benchtop footprint, the BM-10 provides the same 0.5 Hz natural frequency isolation in all axes that characterizes all MinusK isolators. It is particularly suited for heavy scanning electron microscopes, large AFMs with associated equipment, heavy laser systems, and other substantial precision instruments that require both vibration isolation and placement on a laboratory bench or workstation surface. The negative-stiffness mechanism is completely passive – no compressed air, electricity, or active feedback is required – making installation straightforward in any laboratory without utility infrastructure. The BM-10 can be fine-tuned by the user for exact instrument weight and adjusted to maintain the design load as instrument configuration changes.
