The HORIBA iHR series are high-resolution imaging spectrometers and monochromators built on a Czerny-Turner optical design, available in focal lengths of 320 mm (iHR320) and 550 mm (iHR550). The Czerny-Turner monochromator design uses two concave mirrors and a diffraction grating to disperse light spectrally; the imaging spectrometer version couples this dispersive element with a flat-field camera port for use with CCD or CMOS array detectors to acquire full spectra in a single exposure. The iHR series features motorized grating turrets (multiple gratings mounted and switchable under software control), motorized entrance and exit slits for precise aperture control, and a wide selection of compatible detectors and gratings for optimization across different wavelength ranges (UV to mid-IR). High-quality optics and low stray light levels make the iHR series suitable for sensitive spectroscopic measurements including photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy of semiconductors and nanomaterials, Raman spectroscopy (with laser line rejection filters), cathodoluminescence, electroluminescence, and general spectroscopy research. The 550 mm focal length provides higher spectral resolution, while the 320 mm model offers a more compact format with wide spectral coverage per detector pixel.
