The HORIBA LabRAM Soleil is HORIBA Scientific’s next-generation integrated confocal Raman microscopy platform combining ultra-sensitive Raman detection, advanced imaging modes, and multimodal spectroscopy capabilities for materials science, semiconductor characterization, life science, and pharmaceutical research applications.
The HORIBA LabRAM Soleil represents HORIBA Scientific’s latest advancement in integrated confocal Raman microscopy, designed to address the full range of modern Raman spectroscopy and imaging requirements in a single modular platform. The LabRAM Soleil combines high-sensitivity Raman detection with optical microscopy, offering confocal spatial filtering for three-dimensional mapping with micron-scale depth resolution, and supporting multiple illumination and collection geometries to accommodate diverse sample types and experimental configurations.
The system is built on a stable, open optical platform that accepts multiple laser excitation wavelengths simultaneously, enabling wavelength-dependent studies and fluorescence rejection strategies through careful laser selection. The LabRAM Soleil supports a wide range of spectroscopic and imaging modes including point spectra, line scanning, confocal imaging (2D and 3D mapping), large-area mosaic mapping, and kinetic measurements. Advanced capabilities include Raman polarization analysis for crystallographic studies, time-resolved measurements, and integration with environmental stages for in-situ studies under controlled temperature, atmosphere, or mechanical stress.
Key applications for the LabRAM Soleil include characterization of 2D materials (graphene, MoS2, and related systems) where spatial uniformity and defect mapping are critical, semiconductor stress analysis and composition mapping, polymorphism identification in pharmaceutical compounds, carbon materials (carbon nanotubes, diamond-like coatings), geological samples, and biological tissues where chemical imaging reveals spatial distribution of molecular components. The system integrates with HORIBA’s LabSpec 6 software for acquisition, processing, and chemometric analysis.
