The HORIBA LabRAM Odyssey is HORIBA Scientific’s flagship confocal Raman microscopy platform, offering the highest sensitivity and most comprehensive set of Raman capabilities in a fully modular and upgradeable system, designed for the most demanding research applications in materials science, semiconductor analysis, nanotechnology, and life science.
The HORIBA LabRAM Odyssey is HORIBA Scientific’s top-tier confocal Raman system, designed for research laboratories that require the highest performance in Raman spectroscopy and imaging. The Odyssey combines exceptional detection sensitivity with a fully modular optical design that can be configured and upgraded to support virtually any Raman measurement requirement, including UV Raman, near-infrared Raman, tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS), and atomic force microscopy-coupled Raman (AFM-Raman).
The system is built around a high-throughput spectrograph with multiple grating options, allowing users to trade spectral resolution for sensitivity or achieve ultra-high resolution for demanding measurements such as low-frequency Raman (THz region), phonon mode analysis, or stress measurements requiring precise peak position determination. The true confocal design, with a motorized confocal aperture, provides superior out-of-plane rejection compared to pseudo-confocal designs, enabling accurate depth profiling through transparent or semi-transparent materials including semiconductor layers, polymer films, geological sections, and biological cells.
Advanced measurement capabilities of the LabRAM Odyssey include polarized Raman analysis for crystallographic orientation mapping, time-resolved Raman for kinetic studies of chemical reactions or phase transitions, photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy and imaging using the same optical path as Raman, and correlated measurements with AFM for nanoscale chemical imaging via TERS or co-localized AFM-Raman. The multi-laser platform accepts simultaneously several excitation wavelengths from UV to near-infrared, enabling resonance Raman experiments and systematic wavelength-dependent studies.
NewRoad provides the HORIBA LabRAM Odyssey in Israel for advanced research laboratories in universities, national research institutes, and industrial R&D centers working at the frontiers of Raman spectroscopy.
