The HORIBA Fluorolog-QM is a flagship research fluorescence spectrometer system combining a double-grating excitation monochromator, single- or double-grating emission monochromator, and high-sensitivity detection for demanding photoluminescence and fluorescence spectroscopy applications. It delivers industry-leading signal-to-noise ratios and sensitivity for characterizing weakly emitting samples, thin films, quantum dots, and rare-earth phosphors. The Fluorolog-QM is the fully modular, research-grade version in the Fluorolog family, allowing researchers to configure the system for their specific needs: different detector options (PMT, InGaAs, MCT for NIR), T-channel accessory port for anisotropy measurements, phosphorescence lifetime accessories, sample compartment for cryostats, and integrating sphere modules for absolute quantum yield. The system supports both steady-state fluorescence (excitation-emission spectra, synchronous scans, time-resolved emission) and phosphorescence lifetime measurements when paired with HORIBA’s pulsed Xe lamp or laser sources. It covers a spectral range from approximately 200 nm to beyond 1700 nm depending on detector configuration, making it suitable for visible and NIR fluorescence from lanthanide complexes, NIR quantum dots, and upconversion materials.
