The Nanosurf FlexAFM is a versatile research AFM with a large 100×100 um scanner, multiple imaging modes, and flexible sample access for imaging biological samples, polymers, and functional nanoscale materials in air and liquid.
The Nanosurf FlexAFM is a highly versatile research atomic force microscope designed for flexible sample access and a wide range of imaging and measurement modes, covering biological, materials science, and polymer research applications.
Scanner and mechanics:
– XY scan range: 100×100 um; Z range: 14 um
– Closed-loop XY and Z: eliminates creep, hysteresis, and thermal drift in quantitative experiments
– Scan head: interchangeable heads for different sample sizes; standard and large-sample configurations
– Sample stage: accepts samples from 15×15 mm up to 150 mm diameter wafers
Imaging modes:
– Contact mode: topography, friction/LFM, force-distance, force mapping
– AC/tapping mode (AM-AFM): topography and phase imaging in air and liquid
– Electrochemical AFM: imaging under electrochemical control for corrosion and battery research
– Nanomechanics: force-distance, force maps, stiffness and adhesion
– Magnetic and electrical: MFM, EFM, KPFM surface potential mapping
– Piezoresponse: PFM for ferroelectric domain imaging
Fluid imaging:
– Full immersion liquid cell: biological samples in buffer solution
– Temperature-controlled fluid cell option: 15-60 C for protein unfolding and membrane studies
Software:
– C3000 controller with Nanosurf software: real-time imaging, spectroscopy, data export
– Python API for automation and custom measurement protocols
