The HORIBA FHR series are high-resolution Czerny-Turner monochromators and spectrometers with 500 mm and 1000 mm focal lengths, designed for ultra-high resolution spectroscopy, atomic emission, laser characterization, and demanding research applications requiring maximum spectral resolution.
The HORIBA FHR (Focal Length High Resolution) series are Czerny-Turner monochromators and spectrometers available in 500 mm (FHR500) and 1000 mm (FHR1000) focal lengths, designed for applications requiring the highest spectral resolution available from a grating-based instrument. In spectroscopy, longer focal length directly translates to finer spectral resolution: the FHR1000 with a fine-ruled grating can resolve sub-pm (sub-picometer) spectral features in the visible range, making it suitable for resolving closely spaced spectral lines in atomic emission spectroscopy, characterizing narrow laser linewidths, measuring fine structure in molecular absorption, and studying phonon replicas in semiconductor photoluminescence. The FHR series features multiple grating positions for optimum grating selection across different wavelength ranges, and motorized, micrometer-controlled slits for precise aperture definition. The flat-field imaging design allows use with CCD array detectors for simultaneous multi-channel detection without scanning, while the exit slit port supports single-channel detection with photomultiplier tubes for maximum dynamic range. The FHR instruments provide low stray light, high throughput, and long-term mechanical stability for reproducible measurements. The 1000 mm model is particularly valuable for laser line characterization, high-resolution atomic spectroscopy, and quantum optics research. LabSpec software provides automated control and data acquisition. NewRoad provides the HORIBA FHR series in Israel for physics and optics laboratories, laser characterization facilities, atomic spectroscopy groups, and advanced materials research institutions requiring ultra-high spectral resolution.
