Ultima Expert LT

The HORIBA Ultima Expert LT is a compact, cost-accessible variant of the Ultima Expert ICP-OES platform, designed to deliver high-quality multi-element analysis while reducing instrument footprint and investment for laboratories where the full performance envelope of the flagship model exceeds routine requirements. Like the Ultima Expert, the LT model is based on the ICP-OES technique: argon plasma atomizes and excites elements in a liquid sample, and the emitted characteristic optical radiation is analyzed by a high-resolution spectrometer to yield simultaneous multi-element quantification. The Ultima Expert LT retains the core advantages of the platform: simultaneous axial and radial plasma viewing for a combination of high sensitivity and matrix tolerance, echelle-based optical design for broad wavelength coverage, and HORIBA’s proven sample introduction and plasma stability. The LT configuration makes the technology accessible to a broader range of laboratory environments while maintaining the analytical performance needed for regulatory compliance testing (drinking water, wastewater), industrial quality control (alloys, chemicals, coatings), and research applications requiring routine multi-element analysis. Quantitative analysis for 70+ elements from a single nebulization, with detection limits in the microgram/L range and a wide linear dynamic range from sub-ppb to thousands of ppm, is available in a more compact benchtop design.
