SP-50e

The SP-50e is a cost-effective, single-channel potentiostat/galvanostat built for general electrochemistry research, energy applications, and education. Compact and lightweight, it supports over 80 techniques via BioLogic’s EC-Lab® software and offers an optional EIS mode with a frequency range up to 1 MHz. With a ±1 A range, it’s well suited to battery, supercapacitor, fuel cell, and electrolysis studies.

Designed with both academic research and teaching environments in mind, the SP-50e combines the proven hardware and software foundation of BioLogic’s Essential range with a simple, single channel format that’s easy to learn and operate. The instrument supports 2, 3, 4, and 5 electrode configurations, giving users flexibility across a wide range of experimental setups, from Cyclic Voltammetry and Chronoamperometry to Linear Sweep Voltammetry for rotating disk electrodes.

At just 3.9 kg and fitted with a carrying handle, the SP-50e is easy to move between benches or labs, making it a practical choice for shared teaching facilities as well as individual research stations. When configured with the EIS option, it offers a frequency range extending from 10 µHz up to 1 MHz, paired with BioLogic’s EIS Quality Indicators (THD, NSD, NSR) for fast, reliable validation of impedance measurements.

Every SP-50e ships with EC-Lab® software, the benchmark control and analysis platform for potentiostats/galvanostats, giving users access to real time data visualization, customizable experiment parameters, and built in analysis tools such as ZFit and ZSim. Two analog inputs and one analog output allow the instrument to interface with external devices, such as rotating electrodes or quartz crystal microbalances.
