The BioLogic SP-300 is BioLogic’s flagship single-channel research potentiostat/galvanostat, representing the highest performance available in the company’s standalone instrument range. It is designed for research applications where the most extreme demands are placed on current resolution, EIS accuracy, and measurement stability — applications where standard or even mid-range instruments cannot provide the measurement quality needed.

The SP-300 offers current resolution reaching below 100 femtoamperes (fA) in its most sensitive current range, enabling the measurement of electrochemical signals from the smallest electrodes and the most insulating films. This level of sensitivity is required for characterizing self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on electrodes, scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) with sub-micrometer tip electrodes, single-molecule or single-nanoparticle electrochemistry, and biosensing applications where the electrochemical signal of interest is extremely small. The SP-300’s EIS module provides the highest phase accuracy available in BioLogic’s range — critical for accurate modeling of complex electrode impedance responses in corrosion, energy storage, and biological systems — as well as an extended frequency range reaching into the megahertz regime at the high-frequency end.

The SP-300 offers a compliance voltage exceeding ±14V, accommodating multi-cell configurations, high-voltage non-aqueous systems, and electrochemical devices requiring high operating voltages. The instrument accepts an optional low-current module that extends the minimum measurable current range, further pushing the sensitivity limits. All measurements are controlled via EC-Lab software, providing BioLogic’s complete technique library.
