Optosigma Pneumatic Isolated Optical Tables are active or passive pneumatic vibration isolation systems combined with a precision optical breadboard top surface. They are the standard platform for laser experiments and precision optical measurements that require isolation from building floor vibrations.
Vibration isolation:
– Passive pneumatic isolators: air springs that decouple the table top from floor vibration above the natural frequency (typically 1.5-2 Hz); no power required
– Active pneumatic (optional): servo-controlled air valves that actively sense and cancel vibration including low-frequency disturbances below 1 Hz
– Vertical and horizontal isolation; typical attenuation above 10 Hz: -30 to -40 dB
Table top (breadboard):
– Ferromagnetic stainless steel top surface with M6 tapped hole pattern (25 mm grid) and/or 1/4-20 holes (1-inch grid)
– Honeycomb core or solid steel core; damped steel composite construction
