The HCP-803 is a single channel, high current potentiostat/galvanostat delivering up to ±80 A, purpose built for fuel cell, supercapacitor, electroplating, and electrolysis research. It integrates research grade potentiostat precision with an 80 A booster in a single chassis, offering the same core specifications as BioLogic’s VMP3 potentiostat boards (with EIS option) when running below booster range. With EIS capability from 10 µHz to 1 MHz and rise times as fast as 95 µs, it combines high power with the accuracy demanded by serious electrochemical research.

The HCP-803 was designed for applications that need real current, not just voltage precision. It delivers ±80 A at ±3 V, or ±40 A at ±4 V, with potentiostat compliance up to ±20 V across the channel board, making it well suited to fuel cell stacks, supercapacitors, and other high power electrochemical systems that outgrow standard bench potentiostats.

Despite its power, the HCP-803 does not compromise on measurement quality. It maintains low noise (under 14 mA rms) and fast response, with rise times of 95 µs in potentiostatic mode and 150 µs in galvanostatic mode. Its EIS capability spans 10 µHz to 10 kHz with the booster engaged, extending up to 1 MHz when running as a standard potentiostat, with accuracy within 2% for both amplitude and phase.

Connectivity is handled through USB 2.0 and Ethernet for LAN based, multi user setups, while analog I/O ports allow integration with external sensors and actuators for more complex test benches. Like the rest of BioLogic’s Essential range, the HCP-803 runs on EC-Lab and EC-Lab Express software, supporting over 50 electrochemical techniques including cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, galvanodynamic scans, and impedance spectroscopy, all from a single, familiar interface.
