FUTEK Flush Mount pressure sensors are piezoresistive transducers with a flush diaphragm design — the sensing element is exposed at the port face with no dead volume or cavities — enabling accurate measurement of viscous, particulate-laden, or solidifying media that would clog conventional recessed-diaphragm sensors.
FUTEK Flush Mount pressure sensors (also called flush diaphragm or flush face pressure transducers) feature a sensing element mounted flush with the port face — there is no recessed cavity, dead volume, or internal passage between the process and the diaphragm. This design eliminates the primary failure mode of conventional pressure sensors used with viscous, particle-laden, high-viscosity, or polymerizing fluids: clogging and packing of the dead volume cavity with material that falsifies the reading or prevents pressure transmission entirely.
The flush diaphragm is in direct contact with the process fluid. Stainless steel or specialized alloy diaphragms (Hastelloy, Inconel, titanium) are available for compatibility with aggressive chemical environments, high-temperature processes, and hygienic applications. The diaphragm deflection under pressure is detected by bonded strain gauges or a piezoresistive silicon element in a Wheatstone bridge circuit, providing accurate and linear pressure measurement.
Flush mount designs are available in threaded port (male or female NPT/BSP), tri-clamp/sanitary clamp, and weld-in (welded stub or socket weld) versions for different process connection standards. Tri-clamp versions are particularly common in food, pharmaceutical, and bioprocess applications where clean-in-place (CIP) and steam-in-place (SIP) capability is required, as the flush face eliminates product entrapment.
Output options include mV/V bridge for use with an external signal conditioner, and conditioned analog voltage (0-5V, 0-10V) or 4-20 mA loop for direct PLC or DCS integration. Hazardous area versions with ATEX/IECEx certification are available for flammable process environments.
Applications include slurry and paste pressure measurement, food and beverage process monitoring, pharmaceutical bioreactor pressure, adhesive and polymer process monitoring, and sanitary process control. NewRoad provides FUTEK Flush Mount pressure sensors in Israel for process industries requiring clog-free pressure measurement in challenging media.
