Digital Display

FUTEK Digital Displays are readout instruments designed to interface directly with FUTEK strain gauge transducers — load cells, torque sensors, pressure transducers, and multi-axis sensors — and display the measured force, torque, or pressure value on a numeric LED or LCD readout in user-selected engineering units.

The display unit provides regulated excitation voltage to the connected transducer bridge, measures the differential bridge output (mV/V), applies a user-configurable calibration factor to convert the electrical reading to engineering units (N, kgf, lbf, N·m, in·oz, psi, bar, or others), and shows the converted value on the front-panel readout.

Standard measurement functions included in FUTEK digital displays:
– Tare / zero: subtracts the current reading from all subsequent measurements, allowing containers or fixtures to be zeroed out
– Peak hold (positive and negative): captures and retains the maximum and minimum reading during a test run
– Display hold: freezes the current reading on the display
– Configurable decimal point placement and engineering unit selection
– Over-range and under-range indication

Connectivity options vary by model and include: front-panel RS-232 or USB output for logging readings to a PC or data logger; analog output (0–5V or 4–20 mA) for connection to a PLC or recorder; digital I/O for triggering external equipment or accepting limit switch signals.

Form factors include handheld battery-powered displays for portable field measurements, benchtop enclosure displays for laboratory and production line use, and panel-mounted displays for permanent installation in test machine front panels. FUTEK USB-based models connect directly to a PC and are supported by FUTEK’s free Windows software for real-time graphing, data logging, and calibration.
