FUTEK Custom Torque Sensors are engineered-to-order reaction and rotary torque transducers designed for applications where catalog products do not meet geometry, capacity, environmental, or interface requirements, with full OEM customization of housing, shaft dimensions, connectors, and signal conditioning.
FUTEK Custom Torque Sensors are engineered-to-order transducers built when standard catalog products cannot satisfy the mechanical interface, capacity, environmental rating, or signal output requirements of a specific application. Engineering services encompass full OEM customization: housing geometry and material, shaft diameter and keyway dimensions, flange bolt patterns, connector type and position, cable routing, IP sealing, and integrated signal conditioning electronics.
The customization process begins with a requirements review covering torque range, overload capacity, rotational speed (for rotary configurations), allowable cross-load, environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, ingress protection), mounting constraints, and output signal type. FUTEK’s engineering team then selects the appropriate torsion element geometry — flanged disc, shaft-through, hollow bore, or compact square — and strain gauge bridge configuration optimized for the target capacity and stiffness.
Custom torque sensors are available in both reaction (stationary, static/quasi-static measurement) and rotary (rotating shaft with slip rings or RF telemetry) configurations, and in single-axis or combined load/torque versions for applications requiring simultaneous measurement of axial force and torque on a single shaft. Capacities range from millinewton-meter precision instruments for miniature actuator characterization up to high-capacity sensors for large industrial drive systems.
OEM and high-volume customers can request application-specific calibration, custom labeling, and documentation packages. NewRoad provides FUTEK custom torque sensors in Israel for OEM machine builders, test system integrators, and industrial R&D laboratories requiring transducers that cannot be sourced from catalog.
