The HORIBA Lumetta is a compact, high-sensitivity spectrograph designed for luminescence and spectroscopy measurements in educational, quality control, and entry-level research settings, offering excellent performance in a portable, easy-to-use format.
The HORIBA Lumetta is a compact, high-sensitivity spectrograph that brings professional-grade spectroscopic capability to educational laboratories, quality control environments, and entry-level research settings. The Lumetta is designed around a concave aberration-corrected diffraction grating that focuses the dispersed spectrum onto a flat-field detector plane with minimal optical aberration, eliminating the need for complex multi-mirror optics and allowing a very compact form factor. This flat-field concave grating design is mechanically simple and highly stable, making the Lumetta robust and low-maintenance compared to traditional Czerny-Turner spectrograph designs. The instrument covers the visible to near-infrared spectral range and accepts input from optical fibers or direct illumination through a slit, making it versatile for coupling to light sources, microscopes, and other optical instruments. The built-in CCD detector allows simultaneous multi-channel detection across the full spectral range without mechanical scanning. The Lumetta is particularly well suited for photoluminescence measurements of fluorescent materials, quantum dots, LEDs, organic films, and biological samples, as well as for absorption, transmission, and emission spectroscopy. Software integration allows real-time display of spectral data and basic analysis functions. NewRoad provides the HORIBA Lumetta in Israel for university teaching laboratories, industrial quality control, pharmaceutical spectroscopy, and researchers seeking an affordable and portable entry into photoluminescence and optical spectroscopy.
