The HORIBA Partica LA-960V2 is a high-performance laser diffraction particle size analyzer covering a broad size range from 10 nm to 5000 µm, combining two light sources and multiple angle detectors for accurate particle size distribution measurement of powders, suspensions, and emulsions.
The HORIBA Partica LA-960V2 is a flagship laser diffraction particle size analyzer providing accurate and reproducible particle size distribution measurements across an exceptionally broad size range from 10 nm to 5000 µm in a single measurement. The instrument combines two light sources (semiconductor laser at 655 nm and LED at 405 nm) with a large array of detectors covering scattering angles from forward to backscatter, allowing accurate size distribution measurement across five orders of magnitude without changing configurations or dilution. The LA-960V2 incorporates HORIBA’s proprietary Mie scattering theory calculations and advanced data inversion algorithms to provide high-resolution size distributions and accurate results for both narrow and broad distributions, polydisperse samples, and samples with bimodal or multimodal particle populations. Multiple sample introduction methods are available: wet dispersion module with built-in ultrasonic dispersion and recirculation for liquid suspensions and emulsions, and dry dispersion module with pressurized air dispersion for dry powder measurements. The wet dispersion module is flow-through compatible for automated measurement sequences. The system is software-controlled via HORIBA’s ParticleSolution software with 21 CFR Part 11 option for pharmaceutical QC environments. The Partica LA-960V2 is widely used in pharmaceutical R&D and QC (API particle sizing, emulsion characterization), ceramics and minerals (grinding and milling control), food science (fat emulsions, food powders), and chemical industries. NewRoad provides the HORIBA Partica LA-960V2 in Israel for industrial QC and research particle size analysis.
