The MinusK BM-4 is a light-to-medium capacity Bench Mount (BM) series negative-stiffness vibration isolator, designed for precision instruments with loads in the 100-200 lb (45-90 kg) range. Like all MinusK BM-series isolators, the BM-4 provides 0.5 Hz natural frequency in all axes through the patented passive negative-stiffness mechanism, with no utilities required. The BM-4 is appropriate for a wide range of laboratory instruments including small to medium AFMs, laser systems, weigh scales and balances, optical instruments, and interferometers in this load category. The BM series provides isolation in the horizontal as well as vertical direction – an important advantage over many competing systems that only isolate in one axis. The under-instrument placement means the BM-4 can be used on standard laboratory benches without requiring a dedicated isolation table or bench.
