The MinusK LC-4 is a large-capacity negative-stiffness vibration isolation workstation designed for heavy instruments that require ultra-low vibration environments. The LC-4 provides the same 0.5 Hz natural frequency performance in all axes that characterizes all MinusK isolators, but scaled to accommodate heavier instrument loads on a larger platform. This makes it suitable for transmission electron microscopes (TEMs), scanning electron microscopes (SEMs), focused ion beam systems (FIBs), large optical systems, and heavy analytical instruments that must be protected from floor and building vibrations. The negative-stiffness mechanism is inherently passive, requiring no external utilities, and provides vibration transmissibility well below that of pneumatic systems across the critical 1-100 Hz frequency range. The LC-4 workstation configuration provides a rigid, level platform that supports the instrument at the correct working height while providing complete vibration isolation.
