KSV NIMA Langmuir and Langmuir-Blodgett troughs from Biolin Scientific are the gold-standard instruments for creating, characterizing, and depositing monomolecular films at the air-water interface.
KSV NIMA Langmuir and Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) troughs from Biolin Scientific are precision instruments for the creation, characterization, and deposition of ordered monomolecular films at the air-water interface. By compressing amphiphilic molecules between barriers on a water subphase, these troughs enable measurement of molecular packing, phase transitions, and film elasticity through surface pressure-area (Pi-A) isotherms. The Langmuir-Blodgett technique then allows the deposited film to be transferred layer by layer onto solid substrates with precise control over structure and thickness. Applications span membrane biophysics, organic electronics, sensors, coatings, and nanotechnology. Available in a wide range of trough sizes and configurations, KSV NIMA troughs are fully compatible with the OneAttension software ecosystem. NewRoad provides KSV NIMA Langmuir and LB troughs in Israel for surface chemistry and materials science research.
