The BioLogic BH-1i is a bipotentiostat/biamplifier module that adds a second independent working electrode channel to a BioLogic potentiostat, enabling simultaneous two-working-electrode experiments such as scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM), ring-disk electrode (RRDE) measurements, bipotentiostat studies, and dual-electrode generator-collector experiments.
The BioLogic BH-1i is a bipotentiostat and biamplifier module that extends a compatible BioLogic potentiostat instrument with a second, independently controlled working electrode channel. This dual-working-electrode capability enables a class of electrochemical experiments that require simultaneous independent potential control and current measurement at two working electrodes in the same electrochemical cell.
The most common applications of bipotentiostat operation include rotating ring-disk electrode (RRDE) measurements, where the disk electrode generates a reaction product and the ring electrode independently detects and quantifies that product — enabling calculation of selectivity and yield (e.g., H2O2 selectivity in oxygen reduction research). The BH-1i also enables scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) when combined with BioLogic SECM accessories, where the tip electrode is independently biased while the substrate electrode is simultaneously controlled. Generator-collector experiments, interdigitated electrode array studies, and other dual-electrode techniques also require bipotentiostat capability.
The BH-1i connects to a compatible BioLogic potentiostat (SP, VMP, or similar series) and adds a true second potentiostat channel with its own current measurement range selection, enabling current measurement at both electrodes simultaneously with full EC-Lab data logging. NewRoad provides the BioLogic BH-1i bipotentiostat module in Israel for electrocatalysis, SECM, and RRDE research laboratories.
