The HORIBA EMGA Pro is a professional-grade inert gas fusion (IGF) analyzer for routine, high-throughput determination of oxygen (O), nitrogen (N), and hydrogen (H) in metals, alloys, and inorganic materials, designed for the demands of industrial quality control environments where fast analysis cycles, reliability, and ease of operation are as important as analytical performance. The EMGA Pro builds on HORIBA’s EMGA platform for inert gas fusion: samples are fused in a graphite crucible under high-purity helium or argon flow, releasing O as CO/CO2 (measured by NDIR), N as N2 (measured by TCD), and H as H2 (measured by TCD). The Pro configuration emphasizes throughput and robustness, featuring streamlined operation for QC technicians, minimal maintenance requirements for extended production runs, and compatibility with automated sample changers for unattended multi-sample analysis sessions. This makes the EMGA Pro well suited for incoming inspection of metal feedstocks, in-process control of melting and casting operations (where oxygen and hydrogen pickup during processing must be monitored), and final product certification of high-purity or specification-controlled metals and alloys.
