The SFM-3000 from Bio-Logic is a 3-syringe stopped-flow system that adds double-mixing capability over the 2-syringe SFM-2000, allowing sequential mixing experiments to study transient intermediates in multi-step biochemical reactions.

Double-mixing with 3 syringes:
– Syringe 1 + Syringe 2: first mixing event creates intermediate
– Variable aging delay: hold intermediate for defined time (1 ms to seconds)
– Intermediate + Syringe 3: second mixing event probes intermediate reactivity
– Classic application: denature protein, dilute to initiate folding, then quench at defined folding time

Performance:
