Manual Actuators

Optosigma Manual Actuators are precision micrometer and differential screw-driven positioning devices for fine manual adjustment of optical mounts, mirror mounts, and optomechanical assemblies without motorized control.

overview

about this product

Optosigma Manual Actuators are compact positioning elements used to add fine adjustment capability to standard optical mounts and mechanical assemblies. Unlike stages, they provide a single linear push function rather than a guided travel mechanism.

Micrometer actuators:
– Standard micrometer heads: 0 to 13 mm travel; 0.01 mm graduation with thimble scale; interchangeable with Mitutoyo standard
– Fine-pitch micrometer: 0 to 6 mm; 0.001 mm least graduation
– Body styles: plain barrel, locking collar, flat-end tip, ball-end tip, flat anvil
– Used as drop-in replacements in Optosigma mirror mounts and tip-tilt stages

Differential micrometer actuators:
– Two-pitch lead screw design: coarse thread 0.5 mm/rev outer, fine thread 0.25 mm/rev inner
– Net travel per revolution: 0.25 mm, giving resolution below 0.001 mm with fine adjustment
– No backlash compensation needed for fine positioning; smooth motion without stick-slip
– Used in: fiber coupling stages, beam expanders, precision alignment fixtures

Spring-loaded push-pull actuators:
– Return spring eliminates backlash for push-only micrometer drives
– Preloaded tip for constant contact with driven surface

Adjustment screws:
– Ball-end set screws and adjustment screws for tip-tilt platforms
– Stainless steel with fine-pitch thread; various hex socket sizes

NewRoad provides Optosigma manual actuators in Israel as spare parts and upgrades for optomechanical assemblies in photonics and laser labs.

WHY CHOOSE THIS PRODUCT

Differential micrometer option – below 0.001 mm resolution using two-pitch screw; enables fine fiber coupling without motorized stages Drop-in compatibility – standard micrometer thread pitch matching Mitutoyo and Optosigma mount interfaces Spring-loaded for backlash elimination – preloaded return spring maintains contact and removes dead-band in push-only adjustments Compact actuator format – adds fine adjustment to any flat-surface mount without replacing the full stage assembly ISRAEL availability – NewRoad stocks Optosigma manual actuators for spare parts and upgrade of optomechanical assemblies in Israel
