Optosigma Motorized Actuators are compact stepper-motor or DC-servo driven linear and rotary actuators providing remote-controlled, repeatable positioning for automated optical alignment, filter wheel control, and laser beam steering.

Optosigma Motorized Actuators are standalone motor-driven components that add automated positioning capability to existing optical mounts, mirror mounts, and breadboard setups without replacing the entire stage assembly.

Stepper motor linear actuators:
– Travel range: 10 mm to 100 mm depending on model
– Resolution: full-step 5 um; half-step 2.5 um; with microstepping down to 0.1 um
– Lead screw pitch: 0.5 mm/rev to 2 mm/rev
– Holding torque: provides position lock without brake for vertical loads
– Speed: 0.1 mm/s to 10 mm/s; set by pulse rate from controller

Stepper motor rotary actuators:
– Worm gear or direct drive configurations
– Resolution: 0.01 degree per step with worm gear reduction
– 360 degrees continuous rotation; homing via optical limit switch
– Used for: polarizer rotation, filter wheel, beam chopper, laser diode angle

DC servo actuators:
– Closed-loop control with quadrature encoder feedback
– Higher speed than stepper; constant velocity scanning
– Position repeatability: 0.5 um

Controller options:
– Single-axis desktop controller with USB or RS-232 interface
– Multi-axis controller for XYZ automation
– SHOT series controllers with Optosigma OPTICS software and LabVIEW drivers
