Male Port

FUTEK Male Port pressure sensors are piezoresistive pressure transducers featuring a male threaded port as the pressure inlet — typically male NPT (National Pipe Thread) or male BSP (British Standard Pipe) threads in standard sizes (1/8″-27, 1/4″-18, 1/2″-14 NPT, or metric equivalents). The male port design threads directly into a female-threaded port on a pipe fitting, valve body, manifold, pump housing, or test block — the most common and intuitive installation geometry for inline pressure sensing.

The sensing element is a silicon piezoresistive diaphragm in a fully active Wheatstone bridge configuration, providing accurate and linear pressure measurement with good temperature compensation. Stainless steel construction for both the housing and the wetted port is standard, giving compatibility with most hydraulic fluids, pneumatic gases, water, and mild chemicals.

Pressure types available include gauge (referenced to atmospheric pressure), absolute (referenced to vacuum), and vacuum/compound gauge (measuring vacuum below atmospheric and pressure above). Ranges span from low pressure (inches of water, millibar) up to high-pressure hydraulic ranges (thousands of bar), depending on the model selected.

Output options include mV/V bridge for use with external signal conditioning, and conditioned analog voltage (0-5V, 1-5V, 0-10V) or 4-20 mA current loop for direct PLC or data acquisition system input. IP67 and higher ingress protection ratings are available for washdown and immersion environments. Electrical connections include flying leads, M12 connector, Hirschmann, and other standard industrial connector options.

Applications include hydraulic circuit pressure monitoring, pneumatic system testing, laboratory instrumentation, pump test benches, and general industrial pressure measurement.
