FUTEK Custom Multi-Axis sensors are engineered-to-order transducers that measure multiple force and torque components simultaneously, built when standard catalog multi-axis platforms cannot satisfy the mechanical, environmental, or measurement requirements of a specific application. Custom design services cover axis combinations beyond standard Fx/Fy/Fz/Mz configurations — for example, a single transducer measuring two lateral forces plus torque for a specific robotic joint, or an axial force plus bending moment combination for a structural test fixture.
The customization scope includes sensing element geometry (disc, ring, beam cross, cylindrical hub), number and combination of measurement axes, housing material (stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, or specialty alloys for harsh environments), connector type and position, cable routing, IP sealing for wet or explosive environments, and integrated signal conditioning. Overload stops, mechanical stops, and fatigue-rated construction are available for demanding dynamic applications.
