FUTEK Shaft-to-Shaft torque sensors are in-line rotary torque transducers that use standard shaft connections — keyed shafts, hex drives, or coupling hubs — on both the input and output ends. This eliminates the need for custom flanges and allows the sensor to be integrated into existing test rigs using standard couplings and mounting hardware. The shaft-end design is particularly convenient when connecting to motors, gearboxes, pumps, or other rotating machinery that already has shaft outputs rather than flanged faces.

The torsion shaft sensing element with bonded foil strain gauges and a fully active Wheatstone bridge provides accurate, linear torque measurement. Like other FUTEK rotary torque sensors, Shaft-to-Shaft models are available in reaction (stationary housing, static/quasi-static measurement) and full rotary (rotating shaft with slip rings or RF telemetry) configurations. Standard shaft diameters and keyway dimensions follow common industrial standards to maximize compatibility with off-the-shelf couplings.

Capacities cover the range from small servo motor torques up to larger industrial machinery requirements. mV/V bridge output is standard; optional integrated signal conditioners provide analog voltage, USB, or frequency output for direct interface to test system controllers, PLCs, or computer DAQ systems.

Applications include motor test benches, pump and compressor efficiency testing, gearbox characterization, power take-off shaft monitoring in agricultural or industrial machinery, and drivetrain compliance testing.
