FUTEK Flange-to-Flange torque sensors are precision rotary torque transducers with dual flanged mounting interfaces that measure static and dynamic torque in rotating shafts, motors, gearboxes, and drivetrain test systems by transmitting torque through the sensor body between two flanged connections.
FUTEK Flange-to-Flange torque sensors are in-line rotary torque transducers designed to be inserted into a rotating shaft system between two flanged connections. The sensor body carries torque from the input flange to the output flange while the strain-gauge sensing element — typically a torsion shaft or hollow cylinder with bonded foil gauges — measures the transmitted torque with high accuracy. The flange-to-flange mounting interface makes integration into motor test rigs, gearbox test stands, dynamometers, and drivetrain test systems straightforward using standard bolt patterns.
FUTEK’s Flange-to-Flange torque sensors are available in both reaction (static/quasi-static) and rotary (fully dynamic, rotating) configurations. Rotating models use slip rings or telemetry (wireless or RF signal transmission) to transmit the strain-gauge signal from the rotating body to stationary acquisition electronics without the mechanical complexity of slip rings. Slip-ring models suit lower-speed applications; non-contact telemetry models support higher rotational speeds.
Capacities range from very small torques (suitable for small motors and servo actuators) up to large industrial drivetrain torques. Both metric and imperial flange patterns are available, and custom bore sizes can be accommodated. Standard electrical output is mV/V from the bridge; integrated signal conditioning provides frequency, analog, or digital output for connection to test system controllers and data acquisition hardware.
Typical applications include motor efficiency testing, gearbox torque and efficiency measurement, drivetrain compliance and NVH testing, servo actuator characterization, turbine and pump testing, and industrial machinery condition monitoring. NewRoad provides FUTEK Flange-to-Flange torque sensors in Israel for motor and drivetrain test laboratories, industrial test systems, and research facilities requiring in-line rotary torque measurement.
